You do have awesome parents. Actually you're surrounded by very cool and awesome people. Which makes sense, being that you're so awesome yourself.

Very nice post.

Hey, thanks for all the thanks! What nice things you say about me. I would dispute somewhat and say that you're just really a great person; being your parent has been awesome from day one.

Shelby is great. I'm thankful for her, too.
Ryan is pretty cool.
J'Neil is amazing.
And you're awesome. I am so glad you are in my life. When you are out of school and off doing your own thing, please don't move very far away... :)

I like your list. It was fun to read about some of those things I might not have thought or, realized, or been aware of in your daily life. You do indeed have some very cool people to be thankful for.

So glad for an updated post! You have a lot of great stuff to be grateful for, Sam. You're turning into a good writer too. Fun to read.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I actually loved to play with Legos in the old days when there were no people Legos, or special sets. You REALLY have to use your imagination when all you have are blocks. We'd build houses and get real detailed with our floorplans and furniture. I had a variety of other toys but Legos are what I remember best. I think you and J'Neil got very good use of our Legos while we had them. :)

On marketing: I've always had the same thought you have on marketing, particularly when related to Disney. Did you know that they release their movies for a "limited time," then take them off the market? So there's a time that you can buy the movies, then a period of, oh say, five or six years when you can't buy them. Just long enough for a whole new set of kids to come along that just have to have the movies, so they release them again "for a limited time." Each new group of kids gets “now released” movies. The process has become a little diluted lately, largely because there are so many more movie choices out there, but I used to feel somewhat irritated with the whole thing.

Hey Sam, It’s funny that you are writing about your toy store experience, because I have been thinking about you and your toys for a couple of days now. Carson is really into trains, and Dillon LOVES Lego’s. I bet if you were still into those things (and maybe you are?!?), you boys could have a hay-day!

Kris and Allison - I'll look around and see if I can find the font size in the CSS anywhere or something, and make the site a bit bigger. It's always been a larger font on my 'normal' computer, but on the backup I can see why it'd be problematic.

Brandon - arigatou gozaimasu! chotto... I would love to hear what you've written! I'm using Guitar Pro 6, which - while it's powerful - has some limitations that are sometimes really rather upsetting. I'm still looking into add-ons or other sorts of things that might help expand my horizons a little.

I'm hoping for a programming emphasis, networking has always been a bit of a challenge for me. So far everything has seemed very interesting and relevant, so I hope it stays that way!

Yeah!!! he's back!

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as Kristin, my vision has completely deteriorated. Getting old sucks.

Best thing in the world, though, is living in a place you love, surrounded by people you love, a great job and oodles of talent. Apparently you have all – lucky boy!

I've listened to a couple of the songs so far – they're very cool. Shelby must feel very special indeed (and she is).

Omedetou gozaimasu! Jouzu desu ne. It's great to hear about how things are going for you, and fun to hear your music. What software did you use to write the album? Your music is good at evoking mood and emotion. I wrote my first "rock" song a few months ago, but was too embarrassed to share it with anybody. But if you'd like to hear it, let me know and I'll send it to you (or be "condemned to irrational guilt") lol.

With computer science, do you have a networking or programming focus? I graduated in computer science in '05 (programming), although 90% of the classes were unrelated to programming. Hope you don't get too bogged down by stuff not related to your major - that can be the real time killer.

I'm excited to meet Shelby and spend some time with you in Hawaii this November!
